All training sessions should always start with
and finish with an improved walk

In training, small gains go a long way
A horse can let his muscle fibers stretch
all the way if he proceeds slowly
to prevent stretch reflex control

Lateral and longitudinal bending
helps develop the suppleness and elasticity
required for full mobility of all articulations

To bend properly a horse must be able
to flex all muscles and let them stretch
without resistance

In advanced dressage, work in-hand
is used to obtain small gains in bending
without force. It requires soft hands

A noseband should be snug but not tight
A tight noseband holds the lower jaw
back and clamped at the joint
it is adversed to collection
it stiffens horses
The light foam
along Pamela's lips
shows the freedom of her jaw
